The day before Independence Day of Ukraine, on August 23, following the initiative of President’s wife Olena Zelenska Ukraine’s capital will host first Kyiv summit of the first ladies and gentlemen.

Together with Ukrainian and international experts spouses of the world leaders will discuss the major challenges their countries are dealing in the connection with COVID-19 pandemic. They are going to deal with issues like access to health care and implementing the mental health programs, future of the educational systems, assurance of the equal rights and opportunities as well as combating the discrimination.

“I look forward to hosting this meeting and believe that our summit will kick off a new nice tradition and will become a new platform to discuss the actual challenges our countries are combating with”, – Olena Zelenska stated.

Minister for foreign affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba mentioned that the initiative of the First Lady of Ukraine will bring an opportunity to share best practices and to coordinate efforts.

“World leaders’ sposes play big roles in their countries. However, their international cooperation has never been systemic. Ukraine has initiated and for the first time ever creates such an international platform”, – Dmytro Kuleba added.
