Three major areas of the Ukraine’s First Lady’s social activities are health of future generations, equal rights and opportunities’ policy as well as culture diplomacy.

Olena Zelenska takes care of healthy eating at schools. Reform of school food program began in 2020. It is a complex challenge dealing with issues like quality improvement, nutrition value, food safety and resources’ provision.

In the framework of Olena Zelenka`s project, Ukrainian-language audio guides have been already launched in many museums of the world.

In 2020 following the initiative of the First Lady Ukraine gained official status as a member of the Biarritz Partnership, an international initiative for equal rights and opportunities for all. In the framework of the Partnership, Ukraine, as a full participant, undertakes commitments in five areas. This is the development of a barrier-free public space friendly to families with children and low-mobility groups; teaching children the principles of equality between women and men; prevention of violence; reducing the pay gap between women and men; creating greater opportunities for men to care for children.

In February 2020 Ukraine’s government approved State Program of Combating and Preventing Domestic and Gender-Based Violence for the period till 2025. Plan of the interdepartamental interaction between ministries and state organs to combat domestic violence in Ukraine has been developed.

In April 2021 Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers approved National strategy to create the inclusive and barrier-free public space in Ukraine till 2040. Ukraine`s government also supported Olena Zelenska’s proposal to create Inclusive Council that will monitor and control the implementing.

The day before Independence Day of Ukraine, on August 23, following another initiative of President’s wife Olena Zelenska Ukraine’s capital will host first Kyiv summit of the first ladies and gentlemen.
